PIZZA PARTY WITH SANTA

Children are invited to attend the pizza party with Santa. Activities include arts and crafts, a ride throughout the spectacular Winterfest of Lights, cookie-decorating, refreshments, visits with Santa and more.

LINE DANCE GALORE

CHRISTMAS LUNCHEON

This luncheon is an annual affair sponsored by the Recreation Department in cooperation with the Senior Center of Ocean City. The festive affair is catered by the Convention Center; it is a sit-down luncheon, with all the trimmings. You will enjoy great musical entertainment, as well as a performance by the talented Ocean City Recreation Dancers. This is always a memorable and delicious luncheon!

VALENTINE DINNER DANCE

The Recreation and Parks Department sponsors an annual Valentine Dinner Dance for its Senior Adults. The town contributes to the ticket price for its resident seniors, and non-residents are also welcome to attend at a discounted price. The evening includes a complimentary hors’ devours and happy hour drink prices for two hours, followed by a sit–down dinner and dancing! This is the biggest dance of the season, so reserve your table early!

SOCCER TOURNAMENT, ST. PATRICK’S INDOOR SERIES

The annual St. Patrick’s Indoor Soccer Tournaments have been a tradition for soccer enthusiasts for many years in Ocean City, Maryland. This year we are celebrating our 29th year and the tournaments continue to grow and fill to capacity every year. We estimate this year’s total attendance to be over 170 teams, over the four weekends. February 23 – 25: U18 Boys & Girls Division (2000 birth year and up, exception born in Sept. 1 – Dec. 31, 1999) and Adult Co-Rec Division (18 & over)

(2002 birth year and up).

TIMES: Tournament play begins on Friday at 5:00 p.m. (with the exception of Adult tournaments starting as early as 12:00 noon on Friday.) Games will be played as early as 7:00 a.m. and as late as 12:00 midnight. Sunday championship games can start as late as 6:00 p.m.

WINTERFEST OF LIGHTS: 25th Anniversary

NOVEMBER 16, 2017 - DECEMBER 31, 2017

Northside Park, 125th Street & the Bay. Sunday – Thursday, 5:30 p.m. – 9:30 p.m.; Friday & Saturday 5:30 p.m. – 10:30 p.m. Admission is $5.00 for those 12 years & older, and FREE for those 11 years and younger. For over twenty-five years, Winterfest of Lights has delighted families with its holiday light displays, music and attractions. Take a ride through 58-acres of animated displays on the Winterfest Express. Board the train and enjoy the synchronized holiday music as you glide past spectacular lighted displays, including the Twelve Days of Christmas and other favorite holiday themes. Visit the heated Winterfest pavilion, buy a cup of hot chocolate at the OC Recreation Boosters Café, and browse the Gift Shop for that special stocking stuffer or gift. Santa and Mrs. Claus are available for photos every night until December 23. On New Year’s Eve, ring in the New Year with entertainment, giveaways and fireworks at midnight. Be sure to visit Winterfest of Lights at Northside Park for that lasting holiday memory!

GOLF TOURNAMENT: Turkey Trot Open

SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 18, 2017

Format: 4-player scramble. Popular golf tournament followed by a turkey dinner feast. A 9:30 a.m. shotgun start will put the event into action. SUNDAY, FEBRUARY 4, 2018

Format: 4-player scramble with a unique scoring format. The team consists of a Coach, Quarterback, Running Back and Wide Receiver. Teams score points in the following manner: Touchdown (eagle) 6 points, Field Goal (birdie) 3 points, Extra Point (par) 1 point and Safety (bogey) –2 points. 30% of the “A” player’s handicap is the team offense. Schedule: Tailgate Brunch Party at 9:00 a.m. Kick-off is at 10:00 a.m. shotgun start. Format: 4-player scramble. Teams will play 6 holes from each Gold, White and Blue Tee. Teams choose the holes they play from each of the tees. 30% of the team’s average handicap will be used. Players may find that their ball lands in a clover. If so this player’s team is truly lucky because their ball will be deemed holed! 9:30 a.m. shotgun start with lunch served immediately following play. The menu includes many Irish American favorites. The field is limited to the first 30 teams. Entry fee is $60 per player, which includes green fee, cart, lunch and prizes.
