The Mid-Atlantic Recreation and Parks Sports Alliance supports GoodSports in our communities. Players, Coaches, Officials, Administrators and Spectators are requested to honor the GoodSports Pledge.
Recognition of MARPSA GoodSports was created to highlight the positive sportsmanship within our communities. Each member organization should play a part in honoring GoodSports by identifying one Coach, Athlete, Official and Administrator who has demonstrated positive sportsmanship in recreation sponsored programs.
2023 Dennis Callahan Good Sports Awards Ceremony
The Mid-Atlantic Recreation and Parks’ Sports Alliance (MARPSA) recognized youth players, coaches, administrators and officials throughout the Maryland and Virginia area for 2023 at their annual Dennis Callahan Good Sports Awards Ceremony on Monday, March 11, 2024, at Blue Heron Room at Quiet Waters Park in Annapolis. Special guest speaker was Hondo Handy, an author, former Sports Supervisor for Town of Ocean City Parks & Recreation and is currently the Mid-Atlantic Region Representative for the National Alliance for Youth Sports. Handy was a former member of MARPSA.
